Dr. Daryll E. Daley grew up on the west side of Chicago during the turbulent 1960s and 1970. In the Fall of 1975, Dr. Daley enrolled at Malcolm X Community College, into the Radiology Program to become a Radiologic Technician. As a Radiology student, Dr. Daley performed his clinical internship at Lakeside V.A. Hospital, Westside V.A. Hospital, and finally at Cook County Hospital. At Cook County, Dr. Daley was hired by the hospital as an X-ray Technician. While at Cook County, Dr. Daley moved from X-ray to Special Procedure Technician, before being promoted to the position of Operating Room X-ray Technician, where he participated in a wide range of surgical procedures ranging from hip replacement, cardiac surgery, and brain operations. After leaving Cook County, Dr. Daley worked at the University of Chicago Hospitals as a Emergency and Operating Room X-ray Technician, before going to work as an X-ray Department Supervisor at the University of Illinois Hospital.

In 1982, Dr. Daley left the medical field after being accepted into the Chicago Police Department Training Academy. Thus began a 26-year career in law enforcement, which saw Dr. Daley move from a Patrol Officer to a Tactical Officer, to a Youth Investigator, and subsequently to a Homicide Detective. During this time, Dr. Daley took part in numerous investigations of serious crimes, and became involved in six use of lethal force situations.

In 2001, Dr. Daley began to look for a new career, and subsequently discovered the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. Enrolling in 2002, while still working as a Detective, Dr. Daley began his education into the mysterious and exciting field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Completing the program in 2005, all while raising a family, investigating crimes, appearing in court, and completing the educational and clinical requirements. Dr. Daley was subsequently approached by the Dean of the school at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony, and hired as an Assistant Clinic Supervisor. Thus began Dr. Daley’s career as an educator. As an Assistant Supervisor, Dr. Daley provided treatment guidance to students in the clinic. He was soon added as an Assistant Instructor in the classroom. Dr. Daley subsequently became the lead Instructor in Point Location and Needle Technique, as well as teaching such courses as Accessory Technique, and Practice Management. Currently, Daryll is the Clinic Director of the Skokie Campus of Midwest College. During this time, Daryll also co-founded the “Alternative Health Group” practice with his classmate, Dr. Timothy Suh. Opening the doors in December of 2015, the Alternative Health Group has been provided the modalities of TCM in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago and has become one of the top TCM practices in the Chicagoland area. Additional to the service provided at Alternative Health Group, Daryll and his fellow Acupuncturists at Alternative Health Group provide in- patient treatment on the “Diamond Migraine Unit” at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Daley sought and secured his Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In April of 2024, Dr. Daley was recruited by Insight Hospital and Medical Center for their “Wellness Center”, where he treated and educated patients and staff in the Eastern approaches to health maintenance. Dr. Daley subsequently established his own practice, “Daley Health and Wellness” and its subsidiary “Flying Needle Acupuncture”, which is focused on providing in-home treatments to Veterans, 1st Responders, and Seniors homebound due to physical, emotional, and/or mental limitations.
